This straight adapter carries an AN12 37-degree male flare on one end and a 1/2″ NPT male pipe thread on the other. It is a reducing combination, useful where the hose run needs to be -12 for volume or hose-end availability but the component only offers a 1/2″ pipe boss, such as a pump housing, cooler port or filter head. Bear in mind that the 1/2″ NPT end is the narrower path, so this suits feeding a large hose run rather than chasing maximum flow at the port itself. The tapered pipe thread requires a suitable sealant, applied a thread back from the leading edge, while the AN flare seals metal-to-metal.
