A 45-degree adapter connecting an AN6 male flare to a 1/4 inch NPT male thread, the largest combination in this 45-degree family. AN6 is the common size for fuel feed and return lines, oil cooler plumbing and larger sender feeds, and the 1/4 inch NPT thread keeps the port side reasonably open rather than choking the line down. The 45-degree angle is the practical choice when a straight fitting points the hose into something and an elbow would swing it too far, letting the line take up a natural curve away from the port. The tapered NPT thread requires PTFE tape or liquid sealant; the AN flare seals on its 37-degree seat and needs no sealant at all.
