At this size the reason for the elbow is unarguable: AN16 hose simply will not turn tightly after a straight pass-through, so the angle has to be in the fitting. Male AN16 flare threads on both ends connect to AN16 hose ends, and the extended threaded section takes a matching AN16 bulkhead nut to clamp it to the panel. Suited to high-volume fuel, dry-sump and cooler plumbing. Drill and deburr the panel accurately, and consider a reinforcing plate if the panel is thin — the fitting and hose are heavy.
