An alloy banjo bolt threaded 9/16-24 with a 23mm length. The fine 24 threads per inch gives good clamping control on the sealing washers, which is exactly what a banjo joint relies on, since it seals on flat faces rather than on a flare or taper. The bolt’s hollow centre feeds fluid into the banjo eye while allowing the fitting to be aimed freely before final tightening. Typical uses are fuel pressure regulators, carburettor inlets and oil ports on American-pattern components. Fit new crush washers on each side of the banjo, and take care with torque, as alloy will not tolerate the same effort as a steel fastener.
