An alloy banjo bolt threaded M12x1.5 with a 20mm shank. The 1.5 pitch is the coarser of the common M12 options and turns up frequently on European components and on aftermarket fuel and oil parts. Fluid travels through the bolt itself and out into the banjo eye, which means the banjo can be spun to aim the hose before the bolt is drawn down. The 20mm length covers a single banjo with a washer on each side; deeper ports or stacked banjos need the longer version. Renew the crush washers whenever the joint is disturbed, and torque an alloy fastener carefully, since the threads will not take steel-bolt figures.
