A pair of billet aluminium jaw covers that fit over the serrated steel jaws of a bench vice. Standard vice jaws are hardened and toothed for a reason, but that reason ruins anodised AN hose ends, alloy adapters, brake fittings and polished tube the moment you clamp down. These softer covers spread the clamping load and grip firmly enough to hold a hose end while you torque a nipple, without leaving tooth marks or crushing thin-wall components. They are one of the cheapest ways to stop a good-looking fuel system arriving on the car already scarred. Keep them clean, as trapped swarf will emboss the workpiece.
