A billet-bodied inline fuel filter fitted with a 40 micron element. Forty micron is the workhorse rating in a performance fuel system, coarse enough to flow freely ahead of the pump yet fine enough to catch the tank debris, weld scale and rust flakes that destroy pump internals. The billet housing is machined rather than pressed, so it holds its shape under clamping loads and can be dismantled for servicing instead of being thrown away like a paper canister filter. The element cleans and refits, which pays for itself over a season of racing. Fit it in the feed line between tank and pump, and pair with a finer filter after the pump if you are running fuel injection.
