Alcohol fuels are chemically harsh on seals and coatings that cope perfectly well with petrol, so a methanol-specification filter uses materials chosen to survive constant exposure rather than degrading and shedding into the fuel. The AN10 porting suits the high volumetric flow rates methanol engines demand, since alcohol needs considerably more fuel volume than petrol for the same power. The 50mm body keeps the package short where the filter has to squeeze between the cell and the pump. If your car runs methanol, do not substitute a standard petrol filter here; the seals will not last and the debris ends up in your pump.
