A straight AN8 to 1/2″ NPT adapter. This is a well-matched pairing – 1/2″ NPT gives a bore that suits AN8 flow rather than choking it, so it is a sensible choice for fuel feed, oil supply and return, cooler and remote filter plumbing and surge tank fittings. AN8 is the size most builders settle on for high-volume fuel and oil work once AN6 runs out of capacity. The AN8 end seals on its 37-degree flare cone and must be assembled dry. The 1/2″ NPT end is a tapered pipe thread, so apply PTFE tape or liquid thread sealant to the male thread before fitting. Tighten until snug plus enough turn to clock the fitting, and stop there rather than relying on force to cure a leak.
