A straight AN8 to 3/4″ NPT adapter. The 3/4″ NPT end is a big pipe thread, typically found in sump and gearbox drain bosses, large filter and cooler housings, water pump and manifold ports and header tanks – places where the casting was designed around a bulk port rather than a small sender tapping. This adapter lets you take a manageable AN8 hose off that oversized port instead of trying to plumb something enormous. The AN8 flare seals dry on its 37-degree cone with no sealant. The 3/4″ NPT thread is tapered and must be sealed with PTFE tape or liquid thread sealant on the male thread. Take particular care not to over-tighten a thread this large in an alloy casting, as the taper acts as a wedge.
