A 45-degree AN16 cutter style hose end for rubber-lined braided hose. The internal cutter carves into the hose liner as the socket is drawn up, giving the positive mechanical hold that a heavy, fluid-filled large-bore line needs. AN16 hose is very stiff and cannot be pulled into a tight curve near the fitting, so a 45-degree body does the initial turn for you and keeps the hose off nearby components. Applications are the highest-flow ones on a build: dry sump tank and scavenge lines, coolant transfer, large breathers and fuel cell suction. Assembly takes real force, so clamp the cutter body properly and pressure-test afterwards.
