A one-piece cutter-style hose end in AN12 with a 90-degree bend. Socket and nipple come as one assembly, so building a hose means cutting the braid square, pushing it home onto the nipple and tightening the socket to swage the joint. At AN12 the elbow is close to essential wherever a run must turn sharply, since hose this large will kink well before it reaches a right angle unaided. Making the turn inside the fitting keeps the flow path clean. AN12 is used for dry sump scavenge, high-volume oil plumbing, crankcase breather and vent lines and large fuel runs.
