AN12 PTFE hose with a stainless steel braid beneath a black outer covering. AN12 is used for dry sump scavenge and pressure lines, large oil cooler runs and fuel returns where restriction has to be minimal. The PTFE liner resists hot oil, petrol and alcohol-blended fuels and does not weep vapour or harden with service, while the stainless braid contains it under pressure. The black jacket prevents the exposed braid from cutting into paint, wiring and adjacent hoses on the long chassis runs typical of large-bore plumbing, and keeps the installation looking finished. Large-bore PTFE is stiff, so plan sweeping bends and use hose ends made for jacketed PTFE hose.
