Motul DOT 3 & 4 is a road-oriented glycol brake fluid that meets both the DOT 3 and DOT 4 requirements, which makes it a straightforward choice for everyday cars, bakkies and light commercials, as well as hydraulic clutch circuits. The 500ml bottle is enough for a full bleed on most vehicles. Like all glycol-based fluids it is hygroscopic and steadily absorbs moisture from the atmosphere through seals and hoses, which lowers its boiling point and promotes internal corrosion in calipers, cylinders and ABS units. That is why manufacturers specify a change every couple of years irrespective of distance covered. Keep it away from paintwork and rubber trim, and do not use it in a system calling for DOT 5 silicone fluid.
