An oil cooler core for builds where the standard cooling system cannot keep oil temperature in check. Oil that runs too hot thins out, loses its film strength and shortens both its own service life and the bearings’ lifespan, which is why sustained track work, forced induction and heavy towing all benefit from a dedicated cooler. The core mounts in clean airflow, usually ahead of the radiator or in a duct, and plumbs into the oil circuit through a sandwich plate or remote filter housing. Pair it with AN hose and hose ends rated for oil service, and fit a thermostatic sandwich plate if the vehicle is driven on the road so oil still reaches operating temperature in traffic.
