This AN8 hose end folds the line back through 150 degrees within the fitting body, which is invaluable on the stiffer larger hose used for main fuel supply, oil cooler feeds and remote filter plumbing. Trying to achieve the same turn in the hose itself would exceed the safe bend radius and risk collapsing the liner. Sealing is the standard PTFE method: an olive seated on the liner and compressed as the socket nut pulls the nipple home. Because the angle is fixed, work out the orientation against the real routing before assembly, and check you can still get a spanner onto the hex once fitted.
