Motul 300V Le Mans 20W60 sits at the heavy end of the 300V racing range, built on ester base stocks. The reason for a 20W60 rather than a thinner competition grade is oil pressure stability under sustained abuse. In endurance racing, historic events and older rebuilt engines with generous clearances, the oil runs hot for long periods and can be diluted by unburnt fuel, and a heavier hot grade holds a usable film and stable pressure when a thinner oil would not. It suits both naturally aspirated and forced induction race engines, petrol or diesel. The 2 litre bottle allows a fill to be made up in sensible increments. This is a competition oil for race-prepared engines, not a substitute for a modern manufacturer-approved service grade.
